About Me

Just an average girl trying to make it in the world.

Have a slightly obsessive addiction to all things chocolate and coffee, two dumb-but-adorable furbabies

and am the wife to a man who likes to look at the world through a camera lens (not that creepy in real life, trust me).

Tentatively exercising my fingers again in the art of writing…I hope you’ll stick around for random brain-farts, musings of the ridiculous and probably my 1 millionth attempt to gain control over my messy, chaotic life.

Welcome!

  1. Hey there,

I love your blog, and it’s so lovely to find fellow Aussie fitness and health bloggers out there that you can relate to! Aka, being a self-confessed coffee and chocolate addict.. I hear ya there, I hear ya.

Keep up the great work! 🙂

  2. I’m going to reply to you here, because they blocked me over at the other blog.

“One quick thing – many people point this analogy between robbery and rape and fail to realise one thing – women are NOT property!”

You’re missing the analogy here. it isn’t comparing a woman to being property. It’s comparing a woman’s beauty (which to man, is her sexuality) as being an “asset” or “something of value” in the same way that money is something of value. And women themselves value themselves this way, how many times have you heard a woman say.. “if ya got it, flaunt it!” what’s “IT” in that case? it’s their sexuality, right?

” Walking down a dark street, flirting with a guy, wearing short skirts still doesn’t mean you ask for it or are “contributing” to men’s apparent inability to control their own urges. ”

Yea, actually it does. It’s just as nonsensical as taping money to your chest and walking in a bad neighborhood, if your husband did that, would you call him stupid for doing it? or would you say “you should have every right to do that! you didn’t one bit contribute that robbers apparent inability to control their urge to steal!”

“You cannot make a parallel between this. Rape isn’t about sex at all – it’s about power and inflicting that power in the worst way possible.”

Right, inflicting power through a sexual act.

“The thing about this rape case is that it has brought forth so many underlying factors that make up the rape culture there – and yes, I agree Bollywood films have a part to play in that in what they have done to show women in the light of either the secy “item” girl or the “good” heroine. But, again – NOT the women’s fault – you think honestly (especially back in the 90′s where those eve-teasing songs were the norm) women actually had much of a choice in their scripts and roles?? Do you think they have that now? Bollywood films portray a fantasy in the same way I guess you could say hip-hop music videos.”

Yea, here’s a choice: don’t act in those roles. Where would bollywood then? sunk in the gutter.

There is a difference between being someones fault, and that person being completely blameless. Women aren’t blameless here, that’s the whole point. Think about it this way, if women as a whole decided to not act in any film unless the role was a positive one that didn’t objectify them, what would the men do? what could they do? Nothing. They’d have to make the movies about women poets that started non profits, rather than ones who shaked their asses and rubbed up against guys. But women don’t do that, because they want to use their sexuality to their advantage. see this post HERE:

from a WOMAN (read: person with breasts and a vagina)

The point is the fantasy sometimes gets dangerously close to “the edge”

  3. Hi I’ve just found your blog after realising I’m actually following you on instagram! Anyway just wanted to say love the blog and I see that you’re a fellow IQS’er 🙂 Are you still following? Congrats on your pregnancy by the way just read your latest posts.

    • Hi!! Hahah I do that all the time 🙂 I am still doing IQS but slightly modified to fit in with some of the cravings I’ve been having lol. That being said – sugar still has the same effect on me so am trying to get back on the wagon. I truly felt the best when I was doing it 🙂

  7. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
